The Buda Police Foundation plans to develop youth outreach programs that encourage good citizenship and provide an alternative to involvement in crime, gangs, and drugs.
The Buda Police Foundation plans to work with the City of Buda Task Force on Aging to develop programs to ensure that the city’s older adults are safe.
The Buda Police Foundation will fund equipment and programs for the Buda Police Department that are not included in the city budget. In addition, the Foundation will provide volunteers for community policing initiatives.
The electric bike program will increase the department's ability to respond to calls more quickly and to patrol crowded or hard to access areas. This is especially important because of the many parks and community events in Buda. The program also aligns with the Foundation's goal to enhance community engagement.
The Buda Citizens Police Academy was established to provide citizen the opportunity to learn about the Buda Police Department and develop a working knowledge of it day-to-day functions. The Academy is 12 weeks long and classes meet once a week for two hours.
Neighborhood Watch is a program which empowers neighbors to join together to help deter, detect, and diminish opportunities for crime. The Buda Police Department works in conjunction with residents to build partnerships which support and encourage their efforts through prevention programs, educational materials, training, and guidance.
National Night Out is another well-known community outreach program that the Buda Police Department participates in. The Foundation plans to provide support through donations, volunteers, and other means as needed. The event occurs every year in October and receives no federal fund
